The Maltings Moneybox Campaign continues – We're proud to support Rubicon Dance Studios in Adamstown

A South Wales community dance charity, Rubicon Dance, is the latest group to secure funding from our Community Money Box campaign, helping them to continue to deliver dance sessions at the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales.

Rubicon Dance provides community dance development programmes to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of community settings across Cardiff and Newport. The organisation, which last year celebrated its 40th birthday, applied for funding from our Community Money Box which runs quarterly to support local teams, groups or charities.

Lauren Williams, from Rubicon, said: “Our aim is to get as many people as possible to experience the benefits that dance can bring. We have built a strong reputation based on our ability to deliver community dance to targeted diverse groups through our cultural, artistic and learning programme. Creative expression is at the centre of all our work and our organisation.

“As an organisation, Rubicon's impact within the community is far reaching, including work with a huge variety of people including nursery and day-care settings, primary and secondary schools, hospitals, hospices and in other community venues. We work extensively with people with disabilities including people with high support needs.

“The work that we do is recognised to be of exceptional quality and is highly valued by the participants, carers and support staff alike.

“The funding from The Maltings will allow Rubicon Dance to continue to deliver movement sessions at the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales, working with children on the Renal and Oncology ward to deliver specifically tailored classes to the individual participant. Without such funding this would not be possible.”

Gareth Oram, our Operations Manager said “Since launching The Maltings’ Community Money Box campaign in the summer, we have been inundated with applications for funding and have already awarded funding to mental health awareness charity, The Jacob Abraham Foundation.

“Rubicon Dance provides a crucial service to people in South Wales who wouldn’t otherwise have access to such programmes. The work they do with Noah’s Ark is inspiring and we are privileged to be a part of it.”
